š§ This Weekās Podcast Playlist:
Comic Lab: I have a keen interest in comics, and this particular show keeps me coming back weekly. Not only for the tips and advice about making comics (and making a living from comic), but also their banter and contagious laughter.
American Hostage: I listened to the first episode this week. Not sure if Iām going to listen to the rest. I checked it out only because Jon Hamm is the lead. Maybe Iāll finish the remaining episodes when the world isnāt so crazy and my anxiety is at a four rather than at a nine.
š This Weekās Reading List:
Itās been a long week of reading. I donāt usually get to read this much in a week, so this has been a treat.
Fun House by Alison Bechdell: I read this one for university. Iām not entirely sure how I feel about it yet.
The Thin Man by Dasheill Hammett: Personal interest. I have been looking for hard boiled detective stories to fill the void left after reading all of Raymond Chandlerās Philip Marlowe books. This one wasnāt bad, and I already read the Maltese Falcon, so now Iām looking for more.
Becoming a Writer, Staying a Writer: The Artistry, Joy and Career of Storytelling by J. Michael Straczynski: If you have ever seen anything on television in the last 30+ years, Straczynski probably wrote it. This is one of only two books on writing Iād recommend to anyone. The other is by Stephen King.
The Human Target #6 by Tom King & Greg Smallwood: There is only one comic I still read on a monthly basis, and this is it. It is a murder mystery like no other that I have ever read. I think it is only a 12 issue series, and weāre already halfway into it. I cannot recommend this series enough. I donāt think itās in DC continuity, so pretty much anything can, and does, happen.
